Event Summary

The Community Forecast Breakfast is sure to be informative, thought-provoking and interactive. We invite local residents and businesses to hear from a distinguished panel of speakers to explore and shape our businesses, our city and our county for the upcoming year. This event was created to provide actionable insight into the major drivers of the local economy. Presented by Bank of Colorado & Montrose Daily Press with support from TEI Rock Drills.

  • There will be a keynote speaker from the Denver branch of the Federal Reserve Bank open up the community Forecast Breakfast 
  • The Montrose Daily Press will select a panel of three to four (3-4) professionals from each

            of the above industries, leading the panel’s discussion at the Community Forecast Breakfast.

  • Q&A – Following the discussion, questions are collected or asked live from the audience

            and directed to the panelists.

  • A feature story related to the panel questions and discussion will be published in the

           Progress special edition on February 24th.

Alison Felix, Denver Branch - Federal Reserve Bank


                                                   Alison Felix is vice president and Denver Branch executive at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. In this role, she serves as the Bank's regional economist and representative in the states of Colorado, Wyoming and northern New Mexico. Felix also recruits and works closely with the Branch’s board of directors and is responsible for briefing the Kansas City Fed’s president—a member of the Federal Open Market Committee—on economic and business activity in the Denver region's states. Felix’s research focuses on public finance and labor issues, with an emphasis on tax policy, state and local government finance and the economics of education.

Felix joined the Federal Reserve in 2007 as an economist in the Regional Affairs Department in Kansas City. She was appointed Denver Branch executive in 2012. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in economics from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in mathematics and economics from Kansas State University.
